How To Achieve Your Goals Faster

How To Achieve Your Goals Faster

Do you know that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line? Let’s say you live in Singapore and you want to go to New York, USA. Which way will be the most direct and fastest way?

Surely, you will say by taking the direct flight there from Singapore.

Why not drive through Thailand, Myanmar all the way to Europe and take a ferry from there? Yes, though it will be adventurous because you can see a lot of things, but the time it takes is longer compared to the direct flight.

In fact you will put yourself in danger of getting sidetracked by these things you see along the long path and you may never reach your destination. It will happen if you are caught up with what’s happening along your journey.

When it comes to achieving something in life, we need to find the most direct path in order not to get sidetracked or waste time. Yet, people are more prone to take the longer road than the short road and the common excuse is, “but I don’t know how to reach my destination faster”.

I wonder. Is it the world lack information to guide people to reach their goals faster or is it people didn’t do enough of homework to find out how to reach their goals faster? I doubt the world lack of information, especially in this era of the Internet.

This is the information era. Everything you ever want to know is available freely throughout the Internet. You just need to do enough of research. The Internet is a gold mine.

Make the best use of the Internet to find the information you need instead of spending your whole evening in the bar drinking with your friends.

Well, that’s the real reason behind why people don’t achieve their goals faster. They spend too much of their free time in the bar or doing some useless activities and keep whining why they are not being successful etc.

Think about what you did the whole day today. How many of the activities you did today were really useful for yourself and your family? I am sure some of the activities weren’t really that useful. What if you have used that time to do your research that can help you achieve your goals?

So what am I saying here? I am saying it is important to manage our time properly and plan our activities well so we can reach our goals in life faster.

The next time you want to do something, ask yourself, if that activity will lead you faster home to your goal. If it doesn’t, do you want to waste your time doing such activities? It’s your choice. Use your choices wisely.

The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your dreams. – Og Mandino
